The restaurant is located in Historic downtown Swansboro, N.C., with a view overlooking the White Oak River as it flows into Bogue Sound. Our 150-seat restaurant was built in 1988 and echoes the charm and personality of historic Swansboro. The buildings warmth of wood-paneled walls and floors, rough-hewn posts, and stone fireplaces create an inviting atmosphere in the dining rooms and bar that reflect the charm of historic Swansboro. Dining is also provided on a covered porch overlooking the White Oak River. The view offers a beautiful vision of the scenic and pristine White Oak River. The atmosphere is elegant with a comfortable feel. Come join us for all your special events or for a relaxing dining experience. Arrive by walking, driving, or even by boat as we offer docking facilities while you dine. | After 25 years in the Pharmaceutical and Medical field, Gene Heath decided to leave the corporate lifestyle and pursue a passion in the culinary arts. Gene and his family opened the landmark restaurant The Flying Bridge in 1989. He went on to own and operate three restaurants before further development of his passion with the opening of The White Oak River Bistro. Our restaurant is a locally owned and operated business that has a reputation for fine cuisine with a well-trained, accommodating, and personable crew. |
We Accommodate! We customize menus to fit the size, likes, dislikes, and budget of any special event- handling from 2 to 1000 guests. We can handle any Wedding Events from Bridal showers and luncheons to Rehearsal dinners, Waterside Wedding ceremonies, Vow Renewals, and Receptions. We offer not only service at The White Oak River Bistro but also can accommodate off-site locations. We have catered at Emerald Isle Beach locations, Civic Centers, and the North Carolina Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores. We also specialize in other special events including Marine Corps Balls, parties, and dinners as well as Birthdays, Anniversaries, Christenings, Business Meetings, Medical Presentations, Holiday parties, wine tastings, and wine dinners.
